Honda’s CR-V / Ferris Bueller Super Bowl ad.

Can someone please explain this commercial to me?

I see it a lot, but I don’t get it.

1. Why do they want to race this kid home?
2. Why does he jump into the back of an open van?
3. Why the is back of the van open?
4. Why would the mother be sitting in the car? (WITH THE BACK OPEN?)
5. Where are they going?
6. Why do the children just sit on the lawn, while Parker leaves?

Ugh.
