I’m economically conservative, but socially moderate.
What does that make me?

The draw to HuffPo makes no sense to me
Leave your political beliefs at the door.
Everyone seems to flock to the Huffington Post when something frisky gets posted. But why?
Today, I was reading about the Glenn Beck sex tape offer (h/t AJF), and when I clicked through to HuffPo to try and read the whole thing, my eyes began to bleed. (Not really, but do you think that would be grounds to sue?)
I mean, have you seen this site lately? Or ever?
I’m no designer, but this site is positively hideous. Things pop up on top and bottom, that hideous turquoise green, the rotating GIANT FONT headline color, the disaster of a mess that exists below the fold, the hilariously long page that takes forever to scroll through to get to the bottom and what-in-the-world-is-this-site-even-about mix of stories, sub-sections, blogs, articles, photos, videos, etc. etc. etc.
The content, though probably not awful, is hidden amongst links, ReTweet buttons, things that blink, things that pop, giant ads, giant bios, Twitter chat, links to other unrelated things, more Twitter things, ugly comments with terrible badges (OMGZ, BADGEZ!1!) and more giant ads everywhere else.
So, what the hell is the draw to read this? Is the site really that awesome that all you seemingly smart people ignore the mess of the site to read the content? Or am I missing something else entirely?
Please. Help. Me.

Suggestions and answers
It seems a lot of the blogs I follow on tumblr are just re-hashes of stuff I see on reddit the day before.
What are some quality tumblrs I should be following?
