When did Gawker add the +1 button?
Yeah, that’s my little photo in the retweeted section.
Getting ready to pay, are you?
ProducerMatthew.com: Statement On The Exposure Of Anonymous Hackers By Gawker

Why the Internet Thinks I Faked Having Cancer on a Message Board
As expected, this was a joke that people took as news. And ran with it. And never checked with Adrian. And they wrote a story without checking sources.

This is why I’m going to win my bet with Rex.
If Rizzo and Denton win the bet, Denton distributes the cash amongst the editors. Therefore, I care.
If Gawker Media doubles traffic (and that would be INSANE), then Denton wins $3500. If you divide that by, let’s say, 80 editorial staff, that comes out to $43 in your own personal earnings.
So don’t get a mortgage just yet.
How the christ did Nick Rizzo become a character in this? He’s like the fourth guy in the boxing corner who just screams “Pound his fucking head in!” or the one guy in the pit crew who exists solely to slap the car on its bumper as it peels out. In either case, I eagerly await the fruits of Denton and Rizzo’s friendship.
This is all glorious to watch from the outside.

So far, it’s:
+ Unique Users: down dramatically.
+ Pageviews: flat.
+ Pageviews per session: up.
Which is exactly what I predicted. So now it’s just a math game of whether fewer users clicking more will be enough for Denton to keep his shirt.
